What the Travel Ball Ramp-Up is

Four weeks of training built to get your athlete ready before the winter season starts.

It runs October 12 through November 7 for players in grades 4 through 8. Your athlete trains with us twice a week in person and keeps the work going at home with our 28-Day Ball Handling Challenge.

Every session builds their core skills, then puts them in competitive reps so it holds up when the games actually count.

By the time the season tips off, they've already put in the work. They're not spending the first month catching up.

Who this is for

Athletes in grades 4 through 8 who want more out of this season.

  • Your kid looks great playing with friends but struggles to put it together in games

  • They pass right away, don't attack, and leave opportunities on the table

  • They've been playing other sports or taking time off and need to get back into basketball mode quickly

  • Middle school or high school ball is coming and they need an extra push to get ready

The Program

What your athlete gets

8

Fast-paced, no-fluff training sessions

Two a week, Monday through Thursday evenings. Every session builds their core skills, then has them compete so it looks a lot more like a real game than a drill.

28

Days of our Ball Handling Challenge

Work your athlete does at home to keep things moving between sessions.

โ˜…

Rewards along the way

We gamify the work so it feels like something your kid wants to do, not something they have to do. All the while they're working hard, building good habits early, and having a great time doing it.

โš‘

A prize for finishing it out

Athletes who complete all 28 days and make every session earn a prize at the end.

Expected Outcomes

Goals you can expect

Skills that actually translate to games

Not drill work that looks clean in the gym and disappears on Saturday.

Confidence in the big moments

Built from proof. They do it enough times that they stop worrying about messing up.

Conditioning to handle a full season

So they're able to handle the demands of fast-paced games.

Habits your athlete owns themselves

We gamify the development process so building consistency actually feels good. That's how the foundation for working hard sticks around long after these four weeks are over.

From parents who've been here

Real players. Real parents. Real results.

โ€œI took my 9-year-old son to try out Kaizen Basketball a few weeks ago, and he loved it! He's training with them on a weekly basis, the coaches are great with all the children, giving them helpful pointers and helping them develop their skills. I really like Kaizen Basketball, and my son loves it even more.โ€

โ€œMy son just joined recently and loves it so far. He likes that he's learning the skills he needs to be more effective on his travel team. Coaches are great with the kids and helping correct them when they're not doing it right.โ€

โ€œKBC has been the best investment for Damian on and off the court and I can't thank you guys enough. The improvement he has made in just a year is incredible and he absolutely loves training with KBC.โ€

Getting Started

How it works

  1. 01

    Fill out the form below

Takes about a minute. Just your info and your athlete's name and grade.

  2. 02

    Schedule an assessment session

Before anything else, we get your athlete in the gym. We want to see where they're at and make sure this is the right environment for them.

  3. 03

We build a plan for their development

Based on what we see, we put together a plan for what your athlete needs most over these four weeks, then we get to work.

Questions parents ask

Frequently asked questions

What if my kid has never trained before?

That's exactly why we start with an assessment session. We get them in the gym, see where they're at, and make sure this environment is the right fit to help them develop. From there we build a plan so they're being developed the right way, no matter where they're starting from.

How are the groups split up?

Groups are primarily 4th through 6th grade and 7th through 8th grade. Placement depends on things like skill level, experience, and size, but it ultimately comes down to our coaches' discretion so your athlete is in the best situation to succeed.

Do they have to be the same 2 days every week?

No. You can pick any 2 of the days we offer, as long as we have availability.

Will this fit with my schedule?

We know life gets busy. What we've seen work is 2 hours a week in the gym with us and 15 minutes a day at home. Four straight weeks of that, and athletes take off. The buy-in they build lays a foundation for habits that last well past these four weeks. To us, that's well worth carving the time out for.
